GNOC receives IOC Qualification System Principles for London 2012 Olympic Games

The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) would like to inform all members of the sporting fraternity and the general public that the International Olympic Committee Qualification System Principles for London 2012 Games has been received by the GNOC committee.

Contained in a press release sent to Pointsport, the release states:

London 2012 Olympic Games-Qualification System Principles.

Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC, 4th March 2011).

This is to inform all members of the Sporting Fraternity and general public that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Qualification System Principles for London 2012 Olympic Games has been received by the GNOC Committee.

The qualification systems are regulations established by the International Federations which conform to the Olympic charter and the principles approved by the IOC Executive Board.

The following Sports have been selected by the GNOC: Athletics, Cycling, Handball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling, Basketball, Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo, Lawn Tennis, Weightlifting, Football (Under 23 by FIFA.

The GNOC has started engaging the above-mentioned national sports associations to find ways of supporting them to qualify for the Olympic Games.
