Gambia
Ports Authority defeated Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 in their re-scheduled fixtures
played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Tuesday. The victory lifts them
two places above relegation zone in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation
domestic division one league.
The
ferry boys were occupying second-place from bottom in the country’s top flight
prior to their re-scheduled fixture against the Soldiers.
Coach
Alagie Sarr and his Gambia Ports Authority charges knew that a defeat against
Gambia Armed Forces would dash their chances of staying in the top flight next
season. They managed to notch up one goal to bag the victory and move two
places above safety with 18 points from 16 league matches.
Gambia
Armed Forces are still leading the league with 38 points from 18 league matches
despite their 1-0 defeat to Gambia Ports Authority.
