The case of threatening violence, conspiracy and disobedience to lawful order involving 86 accused persons from Gidda and Giboro resumed on Monday at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

When the case was called, the court was informed that some of the accused persons were absent.

Defence counsel Borry Touray, who represents the Gidda people, told the court that only three of the accused persons from Gidda were absent and the reason for their absence was that they were sick.

He then tendered the medical documents of two of the accused persons, while he informed the court that the other one was also taken for local treatment.

According to counsel Touray, he had discussed with the other counsel representing Giboro people that all the accused persons could not testify in court.

He said to save the court’s time, they had agreed that only four accused persons should testify, two from Gidda and two from Giboro.

The case was then adjourned till 28 December 2011, for defence.
