The
Gambia Golf Association, organizers of the 2016 Gambia Open golf tournament,
will on Sunday 18 December 2016 stage free lessons in golf and torsion for the general
public at the Fajara golf course.
The
lessons and torsion to take place in the morning will be carried out by
certified GGA professional golfers and as such the GGA is inviting interested
members of the general public to the lessons and torsion to be offered for
free.
Ebrima
Jawara, president of the Gambia Golf Association (GGA), said for the first time
this year the Gambia Open will be played over two golf courses (Fajara golf
Course and Kololi Beach Club golf course).
He
said they hope this new initiative will add more flavour to the tournament as
well as attract more visitors and also contribute to sports tourism in The
Gambia.
They
expected golfers from Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone but could only
receive 3 professionals from Sierra Leone due to circumstances beyond the
control of the GGA, he said.
Mr
Jawara took time to wish everyone a peaceful 2016 Gambia Open Golf that is seen
through fair play.
