The
2016-2017 domestic division one league season - the Super Cup final - is slated
for tomorrow, Saturday 12 November 2016, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau
at 4.30pm.
The
much-awaited Super Cup final will feature league champions Gambia Ports
Authority and FF Cup champions Brikama United, described by many football fans
in the country as a crunch clash.
The
ferry boys will be coming all out for revenge to lift the Super Cup after
losing to Brikama United 2-1 in the final match of the 2015-2016, when they are
already confirmed champions.
The
Sateyba boys are hopeful of another victory against Gambia Ports Authority come
tomorrow in the final to land the Super Cup title.
Gambia
Ports Authority will use the Super Cup final against Brikama United to prepare
themselves enough for the 2017 CAF Champions league after clinching the
2015-2016 domestic division league title since 2009-2010 season under coach
Peter Bonu Johnson.
Brikama
United, on the other hand, will also clash in the Super Cup final against
Gambia Ports Authority to prepare themselves well for the 2017 CAF
Confederations Cup after claiming the 2016 FF Cup title following their 1-0 win
over rivals Bombada in the final game played at the Independence Stadium in
Bakau, on 5 June 2016.
Striker
Sainey Bojang was on target for Brikama United in the second half after
deadlock in the first half to earn Sateyba boys their first-ever FF Cup crown
since in the inception of the club in 2003, by the then president of Brikama
Sports Committee Lamin King Colley.
