2nd division race continues today

The Gambia Football Federation second division league matches are set to continue today, Friday 11 November 2016.

As part of week-one fixtures, Interior will welcome relegated side Wallidan at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

The police outfit will be searching for a win against Wallidan to increase their hopes of returning to the top flight after losing top flight promotion berth to Marimoo and Tallinding United last season.

Wallidan, on the other hand, will also be fighting to bang Interior to improve their chances of returning to the top flight next season after their shocked demotion to the second division following their dismal performance in the premier tier last season.

Bakau United will rub shoulders with PSV Wellingara at the Independence Stadium.

Bakau United and PSV Wellingara both finished top five in the second tier last season, and will be competing to beat each other to boost their top-flight promotion hopes.

Lions of Banjul will welcome Blue Star at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium; both sides had an astonishing performance in their debut season in the second tier and will be trying to defeat each other to increase their hopes of gaining promotion to the top flight next season.

Elsewhere, the newly-promoted side Fortune will play relegated side Banjul United at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The West Coast Regional third division league champions be aim to beat Banjul United in their opening league fixtures to improve their chances of staying in the second tier next season and also avoid relegation to the third division.

The city boys will be contesting to wallop Fortune to increase their chances of regaining promotion to the top flight next season following their demotion to the second division after their woeful performance in the top flight last season.
