Mariama
Bom Sowe has been appointed as the head coach of the Gambia Women national team
with immediate effect, according to the news emanating from Gambia Football
Federation Secretariat in Kanifing Layout.
Sowe
is set to guide the country’s women
national team to their proposed friendly international match at home to Cape
Verde later in August 2017.
This
decision is being reached at the GFF Executive level with consultation with the
relevant stakeholders.
Mariama
Sowe will be ably assisted by Abdoulie Bojang of Steve Biko and will also be
teamed up with a technical staff for the team’s technical preparation.
Bom
has had earlier spells with the Female national team leading to her accolade at
the 2012 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan.
She
is currently the head coach of Interior FC in the Female League division one.
