Serrekunda East’s poor run of form continued in the 2013-2014 Gambia Football Federation GFF second division following their 1-0 defeat to Seaview in the week-ten fixtures played at Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Monday.
Serrekunda East, who missed promotion to the top flight in the 2011-2012 season, came into the game with the objective of bagging the vital three points against Seaview and moving away from relegation zone but were reluctant to snatch the vital three points against the stunning Seaview side, who snatched the maximum points to fancy their chances of returning to the country’s premier tier.
The victory has boosted Seaview’s chances of regaining promotion to the country’s top tier following their demotion to the second tier after their dismal performance in the top flight last season.
Blue Star drew 1-1 with Serrekunda United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium the same day with Ebrima Sanyang opening the score-line for Serrekunda United in the 4th minute of the game after a brilliant self-display. Ismaila Badjie levelled the score for Blue Star FC in the 42nd minute of the game from the penalty spot.
Young Africans also drew 0-0 with Sait Matty at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
Bakau outfit KGI beat Lamin United 1-0 at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, while Tallinding United also defeated Bombada United on the same score-line at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
