Gamtel/Gamcel defeated Old Jeshwang Volleyball Team

Gamtel/Gamcel Male Volleyball team on Saturday 19th June 2010 defeated Old Jeshwang Volleyball team by 3 sets to 1 set in a well and keenly contested game at the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) Volleyball Lawn in the First Week of the National Volleyball League.

Speaking to the Head Coach of Gamtel/Gamcel Male Volleyball Team, Jegan Ndong, said they were really prepared for the game, knowing that it would not be an easy one, as they have been playing together for a long time.

According to Head Coach Ndong, he knew that they were coming to take the three points from Old Jeshwang Volleyball team. As he put it, he had the confidence in his players.

He proudly revealed that they were mentally and physically prepared for the game since to them it was a final, adding that when they meet up again in Banjul for the return league they would defeat Old Jeshwang Volleyball team to deny them three points again.

Paul Gomez, the Head Coach of Old Jeshwang Male Volleyball team, said his aim was to win the game, as it was his opening and home game of the league, but was quick to add that they had younger players in their team who were naïve in the game.

With surprising courage and determination, he revealed that his team would prepare for their next game so as to emerge victors at the end of the day.

Meanwhile, earlier on Friday 18th June 2010, Olympafrica Centre/Serrekunda East Female Volleyball team lost to Gamtel/Gamcel Female Volleyball team by three sets to nil, at the Gambia Senior Secondary School Volleyball Lawn in Banjul.
