Gamtel out of Confederation Cup

Gamtel lost 3-1 to AS Real de Bamako in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup on Monday in Bamako.

Despite having a 1-0 win advantage over their opponents in Banjul, The Gambia FA Cup champions failed to defend their lead in Mali.

Gamtel, who for the first time made their appearance at this competition and also reaching the second stage of the competition for the first time beating Senegal’s Cassa Sport in the opener, could not cope with the Malians, who are veterans at this level of the continental competition.

Tapha Manneh and his charges will now focus on the Gambia Football Association League.
