Gamtel
are still languishing in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic
division one league after losing to Samger 2-1 in their week-four fixtures
played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.
The
Academy boys and Telecommunication giants are both struggling in the country’s
top flight with one point each in two league fixtures prior to their Sunday’s
clash at the Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
Samger
grabbed the vital three points after notching in two goals to clinch their
first win in the top flight and also climbing mid-table in the country’s
premier league.
Gamtel
managed to notch in one goal, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal
for them.
The
victory has earned Samger mid-table in the league with 4 points in three league
fixtures.
Gamtel
are still languishing one place above relegation zone with a single point in
three league matches.
The
telecommunication giants hope to win their next league fixtures to improve
their position and also increase their chances of lifting the league title
despite their poor start to the 2016-2017 domestic division one league
campaign.
Brikama
United lost to Hawks on the same score-line at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
Elsewhere,
Real De Banjul thumped Serrekunda United 2-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini
Stadium to keep their league title ambitions alive.
