Three first half goals from Malamin Badjie, Abdou Aziz Ginado and Lamin Owens gave the Gambia National Veteran Football Society team its first 3-0 win in the curtain-raiser of the second edition of the Union of Zone II Football Veteran's tournament yesterday in Sierra Leone.
The defending champions who hosted and won the first edition in Banjul during last year's July 22nd celebration beat Sierra Leone's B Team, after taken an early lead in the 2nd, 21st and 35th minutes to establish what looks like a perfect start for The Gambia.
The Gambia is expected to play its second game during the weekend.
Today's match will feature a tight contest between Mali against Sierra Leone's A team later this afternoon.
