The Scorpions, who are yet to secure the services of a coach since the hot departure of former coach Paul Put, registered 29 places in the continental rankings and 116 globally.

The Gambia, which registered its highest rankings under Coach Paul Put, are yet to intensify preparation for their qualifiers against Algeria in Banjul in two months’ time.

The Scorpions secured their highest position in 2009 when they got the 55th place globally, their highest global adventure since 1993.

Algeria occupy 3rd place in Africa and 30 in the globe in the latest FIFA rankings.
