The ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has released the results of the 2011 Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examination (GABECE).
According to a press release issued by the ministry, the total number of candidates who entered for the examination was 21,659 of which 11,022 were male and 10,637 were female.
A total of 21 candidates scored aggregate 6 in 2011 (an increase of 11).
Out of the 21, 5 are from
Two candidates in Charles Jaw and Mingdaw schools also scored aggregate 6 respectively, while 1 candidate in the following schools: Ndow’s Comprehensive, St.Theresa’s Kanifing, Latrikunda Sabiji, Ndemban, Barra and Pakalinding also scored aggregate 6.
“Candidates are to receive their individual results from their respective schools,” the release added.
It went further to state that admission to grade 10 should be based on passes in the core subjects to be decided by boards of governors, and not exceeding aggregate 42.
