Armitage Senior Secondary School in the Central River Region of Janjanbureh recently held their annual inter-house athletics championship at the school playground.
The event was part of preparations ahead of the 2011 national inter-schools athletics final billed for 11 and 12 March 2011 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The most anticipated inter-house athletics championship, characterised by brilliant exhibition of skills and panache, attracted thousands of spectators from Janjanbureh and its environs.
The four houses that competed in the championship were Fulladou Kunda, Niani Kunda, Kaabou Kunda and Saloum Kunda.
At the end of the events, Fulladou Kunda emerged champions after securing 395 points.
Niani Kunda and Kaabou Kunda took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while Saloum Kunda finished at the bottom of the table with 311 points.
As champions, Fulladou Kunda received a giant trophy presented to them by the Sports Master of the School, Victor Bandi.
