A fresh charge of abuse of office was yesterday brought against the former Inspector General of Police, Ensa Badjie, at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before acting-Principal Magistrate Alargba.
According to the particulars of offence, in 2009 in the Kanifing Municipalily, the accused person, Ensa Badjie, by virtue of his position as the Inspector General of Police, ordered the release of one Ousman Jammeh alias “BAKA” who was held for traffic offences along
Badjie, who is already facing trial on charges of corruption and robbery, among others, pleaded not guilty to the latest charge.
The prosecuting officer, Superintendent Joof, told the court that the case was for mention, and applied for an adjournment.
The case was adjourned until 23rd March 2011.
