Four Gambians deported from Switzerland

May 17, 2013, 9:43 AM

Four young Gambians were yesterday deported from Switzerland, where they have been staying, The Point has reliably learnt.

The four, who could not be identified at the time of going to press, were reportedly staying in Switzerland illegally, Immigration spokesperson Superintendent Ba Ensa Jawara told The Point.

They landed at Banjul International Airport at 12.35pm on Thursday.

Noting that The Gambia is a peaceful country, the Immigration mouthpiece advised Gambians abroad to respect the laws of their host countries.

‘Anywhere they find themselves around the world, they should try by all means to regularize their status,’ he added.
