Former AELP coordinator charged

Mr. Ebrima Secka, former Coordinator of the Africa Emergency Locus Project was yesterday arraigned before Justice Joseph Wowo of the Banjul High Court, charged with theft and economic crime.

Mr. Secka who pleaded not guilty to all the counts is charged with five counts of theft and five counts of economic crime.

He was alleged to have committed this offence, while being employed in the public service as Coordinator of the Africa Emergency Locus Project in Abuko.

Meanwhile, he was granted a court bail in the sum of D200, 000 (two hundred thousand Dalasi), with two Gambian sureties, all of whom must have a landed property within the country.
