The reported detention of a former Crime Management Co-ordinator is still hampering the progress of the trial of a Gambian former foreign diplomat.
The remand of ex-CMC Burama Dibba in custody at the State Central Prison in Banjul was on Wednesday a hurdle to the progress of the case of Willy Joof currently facing eight-count charges revolving around official corruption, theft, receiving goods by false pretences, abuse of office, among others.
His case was supposed to proceed on Wednesday but it was yet again adjourned for ex-CMC Dibba, who was supposed to be cross-examined by the defense counsel for the second time, was said to have been away in prisons.
The case was consequently adjourned to June 26.
