Stockholm FC on Tuesday came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw with Rangers FC in the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) Nawetaan game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Rangers FC took the lead as early as the first minute of the game through Bubacarr Jallow, but could only hold on to the lead for 35 minutes before surrendering it to Stockholm FC who leveled the score line through Dembo Badjie.
Lamin Sanneh had a golden opportunity to put his side, Rangers FC, ahead in the 49th minute of the game, but the effort was denied by the Stockholm FC defence line, which cleared the ball for a corner kick.
Lamin Sanyang of Stockholm FC had a free kick denied by the cross bar in the 80th minute of the game, thus the game ended 1-1.
Both teams have now collected two points each in two encounters.
In a similar development at Ndofan village in the Lower Niumi District of the North Bank Region, in the ongoing Ndofan Sports Committee Nawetaan competition sponsored by Seedy M. B. Kinteh, President of the Gambia Football Association (GFA), Jollof FC of Fass Njaga Choi village drew 2-2 with Mbollet Ba FC at the Biri-Biri football grounds.
Omar Jobe scored a brace for Jollof FC in the 14th and 52nd minutes of the game, while Musa Njie and Amadou Sarr scored Mbollet Ba FC’s goals in the 3rd and 39th minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, the Under-15 competition organized by the same sports committee and sponsored by Ngean Marong is expected to get underway on Friday, at the same football grounds.
