Principal Magistrate Joseph A. Effim of the Brikama Magistrates' Court recently heard a criminal case of rash and negligent act, causing dead brought against, one Bayo Sallah of Wellingara village.
According to the particulars of offence, on 5th May 2010, at Sanyang Village, Kombo North, in the Western Region, the accused Bayo Sallah, drove a motor vehicle with a registration number BJL3629G, and consequently knocked one Shering Wada, and thereby caused his death.
Although the accused had pleaded guilty to the offence charged, the prosecuting officer, Sgt 1260 A. Colley applied to the court to send the case file to the Attorney-General Chambers (AGs chamber) for legal advice.
The presiding Magistrate granted the application made by the prosecutor and then adjourned the case to the 1st June 2010.
Meanwhile, the accused was granted a court bail in the sum of D10, 000, with a Gambian surety.
