One Alh Momodou Salieu Jallow of Brikama recently testified at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate B. Secka, as the third prosecution witness (PW3) in the trial of one Kawsu Jabbi, who is charged with forgery.

In his testimony, Mr. Jallow informed the court that he is a businessman and he knew the accused, Kawsu Jabbi.

According to him, on 7th January 2010, he left his wife in the shop and upon his return she told him that someone had sold $300, equivalent to D79, 000. He said he then took the $300 from her wife and noticed that the dollars were forged.

Consequent upon this, he said he called one CID officer by the name, Abdoulie Ceesay and reported the matter to him, who also confirmed that the money was forged.

He said two days later, the accused came to the shop again with $4,700, and when his wife recognised him, he immediately informed the CID officer.

He said the CID officer then arrested and took him to the Brikama Police Station.

Hearing continues.
