One Kebba Konteh, accused of making false document and procuring executive document, recently opened his defence at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate P. S. Mendy.

He told the court that the buyer of the said land was Abdoulie Konteh.

According to him, in the year 2002 ,when his younger brother, Abdoulie Konteh, came from overseas, the 1st accused person, Saikou Konteh, came to inform him (the second accused person) that one Amadou Sillah informed him that one Abdoulie Cham had a plot of land for sale.

Upon receiving the information from the 1st accused person, Saikou Konteh, his younger brother, Abdoulie Konteh, said he was interested in the plot of land.

Five of them, Kebba Konteh, Saikou Konteh, Abdoulie Konteh Ansumana Darboe, and Kemoto Danso left for Sukuta at Amadou Sillah’s residence.

There, Abdoulie Konteh told Amadou Danso that he wanted to buy the said plot of land, but wanted the Physical Planning authorities to come to the site to know the dimension of the land.

Amadou Sillah then went and called Abdoulie Cham and both left for the Physical Planning department, he told the court.

There, the Physical Planning authorities gave them one of their officers to go see the land.

They measured the said land in the presence of the accused person, and the other accused persons, including Abdoulie Cham and Amadou Danso.

After the measurement, they both came back to Amadou Danso’s home, for Abdoulie Konteh to discuss the price of the land.

Abdoulie Konteh said he subsequently gave Abdoulie Cham D90,000, remaining a balance of D160,000.

Hearing continues.
