The Gambia local-based team is set to resume training today, 24 June 2015, at the Independence Stadium for their crucial 2016 African Championship (CHAN) qualifiers second leg tie against Senegal on 4 July 2015, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The home-based Scorpions under the guidance of coach Peter Bonu Johnson lost to Tarranger Lions 3-1 in the first leg tie played at the Stade Demba Dioup in Dakar on Saturday.

Coach Johnson will use the next two weeks to improve on his weakness and also prepare his boys physically and mentally for their 2016 CHAN qualifiers second leg crunch clash with Senegal in their quest to qualify for the second round.

The home-based Scorpions `will be hoping to overturn a 3-1 deficit in the second leg in Banjul in a fortnight’s time, as a win or draw for Senegal will see Gambia out of the qualifiers after their recent defeat to Senegal in the first leg at the weekend.

Senegal need only a draw to advance to the second round of the qualifiers following their resounding 3-1 win over The Gambia in the first leg at the weekend, but a heavy win for The Gambia will see the home-based Scorpions back on track in the qualifiers.
