Criminal trespass lands man in court

One Sulayman Faye was on Wednesday 12th May 2010 arraigned before magistrate Fatou Drammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with criminal trespass and willful damage to property.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, was granted a court bail in the sum of D5, 000, with a Gambian surety who must meet the bail condition.

According to the particulars of offence on count one, on 13th March 2010, at Pipeline in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Sulayman Faye entered into the house of one Isatou Faye, with intent to intimidate or annoy her by insulting and threatening her.

On count two, the accused was alleged to have willfully and unlawfully damaged the door glass of the said Isatou Faye

The case was adjourned until 2nd June 2010 for hearing.
