One Babucarr Sey, a Senegalese national was on 11th May 2010, arraigned before magistrate Abdoulie Mbakeh of the Bundung Magistrates' Court, charged with obtaining money by false pretence.
According to the particulars of offence, between February and May 2010, at Bijilo, the accused with intent to defraud allegedly obtained the sum of D38, 400 from one Ajie Awa Badjie, under the pretext of doubling the said sum.
Testifying for the prosecution, Ajie Awa Badjie told the court that the accused had phoned and told her that he can double the money for her.
She testified that the accused had collected the sum of D38, 400, but did not fulfil the promise.
The case was then adjourned to 25th May 2010 for continuation.
