The Bundung Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Fredrick Forster is today expected to deliver a ruling in the no-case-to-answer submission filed by lawyer Badou SM Conteh on behalf of his client, Honourable Pa Jallow, the UDP National Assembly member for Jarra Central constituency.

Jallow was alleged to have assaulted one Isatou Maraneh, a police officer, by slapping her while in the due execution of her duties, on 13th October 2010 at Nusrat Junction in the Kanifing Municipality, a charge Pa Jallow has denied.

In response to the defence counsel’s no-case submission, the prosecuting officer, Cadet Inspector Kanteh drew the court’s attention to the definition of assault in criminal law, and told the court that the defendant had the intention to assault Ms Marenah.
