Community Sensitization On Biodiversity Of Coastal Villages Ends

A one-day community sensitisation on Biodiversity of Coastal Villages ended recently in Gunjur.

Organised by the Department of Parks and Wildlife Management, the sensitisation workshop, which brought together 40 participants, was funded by the United Nations Development Programme.

The aims and objectives of the workshop were to sensitise the coastal communities on the significance of protection and prevention of The Gambia’s biodiversity.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Abdoulie Dampha from the Department of Parks and Wildlife Management said the sensitisation was meant to sensitise the coastal communities on the importance of biodiversity and how they should restructure The Gambia’s biodiversity to derive its benefits.

For his part, the Programme Officer at the Department Parks and Wildlife Management, Famara Drammeh, hailed participants for honouring their invitation and sensitisation campaign, which he noted would go a long way towards improving and developing The Gambia’s biodiversity.

He advised participants to make the best use of the knowledge gained from the workshop and share it with friends and communities.
