Defending league and Super Cup champions Commit FC, Lanuja FC, Solifo Investment and Gamcel have all sailed to the semifinal in the ongoing Gunjur Knockout competition after winning their quarterfinal games at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field at the weekend.
Commit FC progressed to the semifinal following their 4-3 post-match penalty shootout win over Oxford United FC in the first quarterfinal game following a 1-1draw at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Friday.
Lanuja FC beat NAS FC 1-0 in the second quarterfinal game on Saturday.
Basiru Touray’s 65th minute strike eventually proved to be the winner for Lanuja FC, which earned them a place in the semifinal at the expense of NAS FC, who are already out of the league and knockout competition and will have to hang their boots until next season.
Gamcel FC made it to the semifinal after their 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Solifo Investment FC, after a 2-2 draw in the normal time in the third quarterfinal game played on Sunday.
