The Brikama Market Business Community (BMBC) last Sunday 18th July 2010 defeated the defending champions National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) 3-1 in the opening of the 2nd Edition of the Western Region Inter-departmental Football Championship tournament, at the Brikama Mini-stadium.
The tournament is being organised by the Governor's office in Brikama with the aim of fostering unity and understanding among workers in the region.
Brikama Market Business Community (BMBC) goals were netted by Baboucarr Sey, Cherno Jallow and Alagie Kawsu Sillah in the 10th, 60th and 78th minutes of the game, respectively, while the defending champions NARI's consolation goals were registered by Modou Lamin Joof and Basiru Khan in the 70th and 84th minutes of the game, respectively.
The kick-off which was taken by the Assistant Director of Youth and Sports, Pa Suwareh Faye, was witnessed by the Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC), Besenty Gomez, Head Coach Gambia National U-20 team, Lamin Sarr and other important dignitaries.
