Parliament lifts Bakau Noran trophy

Parliament enjoyed a comfortable 5-nil win over D-Block to lift the Noran Championship title at the Bakau Mini-stadium over the weekend under the gears of the organiser of a month-long Noran Football Tournament, Ebrima Njie, as well as other football pundits.

The hapless D-Block side who continued to struggle in the game conceded their first goal of a scintillating encounter when Sulayman Jammeh (Ronaldo) fired Parliament ahead with a solo effort.

Moments later, Lamin Jammeh who remains the biggest casualty to be dropped from the current U-17 team added the second few minutes to break to put his side’s title dream alive from a close range effort.

Parliament's midfield master Musa Njie put his name on the score sheet, as he cleverly capitalised on a superb pass from Lamin Jallow (Beck) to help his side enjoyed a beautiful Friday afternoon at the expense of an embarrassing D-Block team before Ronaldo again score twice to complete a hat-trick.

They went away with a giant trophy with an undisclosed fee.

The tournament, according to Ebrima Njie, is being organised in a bid to strengthen the relationship among the youths of Bakau, as well as to enable the youngsters get enough playing opportunities prior to the summer championship.
