Brufut United FC will rub shoulders with Gunjur FC in the second round of the Western Region Third Division qualifiers on Sunday at the Box Mini Stadium in Brikama.
The Kombo North side progressed to the second round of the qualifiers after their opponents Foni United FC failed to turn up for their first round clash last week. This prompted the organising committee of the Western Region sports committee to immediately award three points and two goals to Brufut United FC.
Brufut United FC, who were eliminated in the 2007 Gambia Football Association third Division triangular qualifiers after loosing to Starlight FC of Banjul and Flamemins FC of Kanifing Municipality respectively, will be hoping to qualify for the next round.
The South boys Gunjur FC emerged as the best losers after losing to Farato United FC in the first round of the qualifiers last week 7-6 on post-match penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Gunjur FC will be expecting a victory to secure a place in the next round of the qualifiers.
