Brothers in Court

Alhagie Kisima Trawally of Busumbala village was last Thursday arraigned before the Brikama Magistrates' court presided over by Magistrate Pa-Harry Jammeh, on a charge of wilful damage to property contrary to section 312 of the criminal code cap 10 Vol. III laws of The Gambia.

Narrating the facts, the prosecuting officer stated that Alhagie Kisima Trawally on or about the 25th 2008 at Busumbala village wilfully and unlawfully damaged the following items: 1 roll cotton valued D3, 000; 2 cotton rolls valued D3, 000; 20 pieces of metal rope valued D3, 700; 15 bags of broken tile valued D4, 500;  20 bags of groundnut hay valued D6, 000;  25 pieces metal rope valued D15, 000 ; metal rope and 4 padlocks valued D4, 000, the total value (D25, 100) twenty five thousand one hundred Dalasis being the property of Alhagie Baka Trawally his younger brother.

When the charge sheet was read to him he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The accused defense counsel, Lamin Mboge, was not in court.

 The accused was granted bail in the sum of D26, 000 with a Gambian surety.
