Brikama Man Trial Resumes

The trial of one Mohammed Sanneh of Brikama who is charged with three counts of common assault, wilful damage to property and assaulting a police recently resumed before Magistrate Effem of the Brikama Magistrates' Court.

However, the matter could not proceed as the accused person was said to be indisposed.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Sgt Alhagie Colley, the accused person?s brother has sent a medical paper that, the accused was admitted at the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital on 6th October 2009, and was discharged on 12th October 2009, but he was yet to recover as he was said to be in critical condition.

He said he was therefore applying for an adjournment to verify the accused's health condition.

His application was accordingly granted and the case was adjourned to 2nd November 2009.
