Momodou Abdoulie Jag and Simon Colley of the Gambia Amateur Boxing Association have resigned from their positions as vice president and secretary general respectively of the association.
They said their actions were due to circumstances in the association unfavourable to them.
The secretary general’s letter addressed to the President of the Gambia National Olympic Committee reads:
“Due to unfavourable circumstances I have to go through, I write to tender my letter of resignation as secretary general of the Gambia Amateur Boxing Association with effect from Today 16th June 2013.
I felt it necessary to tender my letter of resignation as the current state of affairs does not permit me to continue as secretary general.
I have an incomplete printer and some training manuals and other documents which I would want to handover. I cannot bring them myself due to their load.
Meanwhile, I want to thank all those who have been supportive of me in one way or the other during my tenure as secretary general. I wish you all success in your endeavours to develop the youth and talents of this country.
