Alhagie Modou Njie (aka Biri-Biri), who has been named after the Ndofan football ground as Biri-Biri Mini Stadium, has announced that he is looking for funds in Spain to develop the Biri-Biri Mini Stadium in Ndofan Village to a grass pitch.
The Gambian legend, who was speaking to reporters on Sunday shortly after the final of the Ndofan Sports Committee, stated that it was pride and honour for him to come and witness the final in the field named after him in 1994 when the nawettan was initiated by the committee.
The former Seville sensational forward noted: “I am doing my best in looking for funds in Spain to develop this field into a grass pitch and also develop its standards.”

The Gambia’s all-time legendary said they can only pray for Dr Njogu Bah for long life and prosperity because he has not only been sponsoring nawettan in North Bank Region but has also been doing everything possible to make sure Gambian sport gets to higher heights.
Mass Axi Gye, Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources, said the final was well-contested and exciting, adding that he was proud being present and representing the sponsor of the tournament Dr Njogu Bah.
