BB Rovers FC on Monday drew 1-1 with Nguma FC in the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) Nawetaan game played at the Mini Stadium.
Nguma FC took the lead through Yusupha Njie in the second minute of the game, but Edward Mendy leveled for BB Rovers FC in the 45th minute of the game, which thus ended 1-1.
BB Rovers FC has now collected a point in two games, while Nguma FC collected two points in two encounters.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Bubacarr Nyabally, head coach of Nguma FC, said they created various chances during the game, but could not capitalize on one, adding that they even made changes to re-enforce their striking force, but to no avail.
He also stated that they would prepare well for their next game in order to be victorious, noting that his strikers were not relaxed in front of goal, which resulted in the draw against BB Rovers FC.
Ebrima Sohna, head coach of BB Rovers FC, said their opponents should have won the game if they had capitalized on the chances they created in the first period of the game, but that they also rectified their mistakes during the break, and fought back in the second half of the game.
He noted that losing their first game of the competition to their neighbours, it was a blow for them.
He said scoring goals is always a problem, but that they are more hungry for the three points than their opponents in their next game, and that they are going for the three points in their next game.
He also expressed confidence that they would qualify for the second round of the nawetaan competition.
