The National Basketball League is set for the second phase of the competition when it will play its knockout featuring nine teams.
Mohammed M. Njie, alias Papa, President of the Gambia Basketball Association, said this year’s knockout will be played from 17 to 23 June 2013.
This is because of the approaching rains and the Ramadan.
The league winner and runners-up teams will be seeded as team 1 and 2 respectively. All the other games will be balloted and positioned in a knockout format. Teams that are drawn for 8 and 9 will have to play each other to enter into the knockout proper.
The national league fixture has also been revised to ensure all the games are completed before Ramadan and the raining season.
Today’s matches will feature SK East against Wallidan as well as Lamin against Saints at the Serrekunda West.
In Saturday’s matches East will take on GAF, YMCA will play Saints and Lamin will meet Brikama United all to be played in the Brikama.
Sportshouse take on West while GAF play Brikama in Sunday matches at the Serrekunda West.
