Late Ebou Sowe, commonly called Heart of Banjul, have booked their place in the final of the Canon-sponsored Banjul league Nawettan after defeating Ajax 1-0 in the semifinal encounter played at the KG5 Mini-stadium on Saturday.
Defender
Ousainou Trawally’s 41st minute header was enough to send Late Ebrima Sowe into
the 2019 Banjul Nawettan league final after a wonderful cross from Modou
Kebbeh.
Ajax
fought hard for an equalizer but Late E Sowe defense was resolute and withstand
all the pressure to reach their second final in two years as the game ended 1-0
in favor of Heart of Banjul. This followed their last year defeat to Jamesen in
the knockout final.
Meanwhile,
Jamesen and FC Warriors will renew their rivalry as the two giants clash in the
other Semi Final on Monday 21 October, 2019. Both teams are into the Semis of
both trophies and will each be looking for the double this season.
