Bakau United on 1 March 2011 at the Serrekunda East Mini-Stadium beat Flamimens FC by a goal to nil in the ongoing eight-team pre-season tournament organised by Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO).
Abdou Badjie’s 72nd minute goal was all but enough to earn Bakau United all three points at the expense of Flamimens FC in a keenly contested encounter.
Despite both sides’ brilliant attacking football during the game, they could only manage to create a few unsuccessful scoring chances.
Abdou Badjie slotted home a brilliant strike thanks to a clever set-up by teammate Ebrima Camara, alias Bura, following a wonderful cross, just at the edge of the eighteen-yard box, for the game’s only goal.
Bakau United’s lanky striker Ebrima Camara had a golden opportunity in the dying minutes of the game to double but could only shoot high and wide.
Bakau United have now collected three points in two games while Flamimens FC could only manage to collect a single point in three encounters.
On Monday, 28 February 2011, Samger FC defeated Serrekunda East by the same score line at the Serrekunda East Mini-Stadium.
