Striker Bakary Jarjue’s 72nd minute prolific strike inspired Central Lanuja FC to a slender 1-0 victory over Madina Salaam in group B fixtures in the 2014-2015 Gunjur Nawettan qualifiers played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Sunday.
Madina Salaam made an astonishing start to the game and dominated Central Lanuja FC in all departments in the field and created numerous goal scoring opportunities but failed to utilize on their limited goal scoring opportunities.
Central Lanuja FC, who were unable to establish themselves formidable in the game, opened the tally through tallish man Bakary Jarjue in the 72nd minute of the game to give his side the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner for Central Lanuja FC and also their first win in the qualifiers.
Madina Salaam fought hard for an equalizer but could not break through Central Lanuja FC formidable defence line and thus, the game ended 1-0 in favour of Central Lanuja FC and will be placing for a win against local rivals Sibindinto FC this weekend to fancy their chances of qualifying for the Nawettan proper.
Madina Salaam, on the other hand need to beat Sibindinto FC in their final group B tie to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2014-2015 Gunjur Nawettan proper following their 1-0 defeat to Central Lanuja FC at the weekend.
Elsewhere, Kund Dembo FC defeated Underlion FC on the same score line in group A on Saturday, courtesy of Bolong Suso’s owned goal in the first half.
The has earned Kund Dembo FC top spot in group A with maximum 3 points in one outing, while Underlion FC are currently rooted at the bottom of group A with zero point in one game and need to beat Teachers Union FC in their final group B game to keep their dreams of qualifying for the nawettan proper after their 1-0 defeat to Kund Dembo FC in the opening game at the weekend.
