Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSDA) has presented a giant trophy and cash prized of D9,000 to the 2013-2014 Gunjur Knock out champions Alex Sanchaba FC at a colourful ceremony held at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field at the weekend.
The giant trophy and cash prized of D9, 000 was presented to the captain of Alex Sanchaba FC Malang Jassey Uncle AKA Chicharitto by Eliman Sarr, a die hearted football enthusiast in Gunjur.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Eliman Sarr applauded Gunujur Youth and Sports Development Association GYSDA for their dedication and commitment towards the development of sports in Gunjur especially football.
Sarr also thanked the players for exercising patient, discipline and tolerance during the last year’s nawettan and he urged them to continue in the upcoming nawettan season.
Sarr urged the players to abide by the rules and regulations governing the Nawttan and he use the occasion to call on Gunjurians to rally behind Gunjur United in order for them to realize their dreams and aspiration in the near future.
For his part, the second vice president of Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSDA), Alieu Darboe, hailed Alex Sanchaba FC for exercising discipline during last year’s Nawettan and he advise them to keep it up as they prepare for the town’s summer biggest football jamboree curtain raiser set for later in the summer against league champions giant killers Steve Biko FC.
