Members of the Public Accounts/Enterprises Committees of the National Assembly Monday finally adopted the 2010 and 2011 annual report and audited financial statement of the National Environment Agency, NEA.
The report was earlier rejected by members of the committees, due to the agency’s failure to “either by design or default to include some information including a comprehensive list of the NEA current staff payroll in the current report.”
However, during its session on Monday, deputies unanimously adopted the report after they expressed satisfaction, made observations and gave recommendations.
Meanwhile, members of the Public Accounts/Enterprises Committees of the National Assembly Tuesday rejected the annual report and financial statement of the National Youth Council, NYC.
The move, according to Speaker Abdoulie Bojang, who chaired the session, was due to the council’s failure to submit its financial statement for the second consecutive time.
This is not the first time the joint PAC/PEC committees has rejected reports, as the NEA also got its report rejected earlier on.
Commenting during the session, Hon. Alagie Sillah, Hon. Sainey Mbye, among others expressed disappointment with the National Youth Council.
