The second prosecution witness (PW2), Lamin Jarju, recently testified in the trial of James Sambou and Malick Othman, accused of house-breaking, stealing and attempting to commit a felony before Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Jarju told the court that he recognized the accused persons, and it was one night at around 3 am, when he and one Fansu Bojang heard noise in their compound.

They came out and saw the persons in the big house, which belongs to Sulayman Touray, he said.

They went around the entrance of the said house and saw the door was opened and they locked the entrance, he added.

He said the mattresses, which were inside the house, were put outside the verandah.

That was the time he called Sulayman Touray on his phone, while he locked the accused persons inside the said house, he said, adding that Touray came with police officers.

He said when they were caught, scissors, knife and a piece of iron were found in their possession, adding that they were later arrested and taken together with the said items.

The case was adjourned to 25 February 2015.
