Alleged engine block thief arraigned

One Aziz Jarra was recently arraigned before Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates' court, charged with theft.

According to the charge sheet, on 6 January 2011, at the President Award Scheme in Bakau, Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Aziz Jarra, stole one engine block valued at D3,000, the property of one Samuel L. Nioeze.

Meanwhile, the accused, who has denied the charge, was subsequently granted bail of D50,000, with a Gambian surety.

Thea case at that juncture was adjourned until 23 February 2011.
