Alex Dacosta Appointed Acting Interim Chairman, NSC

Following the dissolution of the National Sports Council last week by the Minister of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Council yesterday confirmed the appointment of Mr Alex Dacosta as the acting interim chairman of the Council.

In an interview with Pointsport yesterday, the Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council, Mr Alieu Cham, stated that the interim committee will serve for a period of six months along terms of references provided for their operation.

He pointed out that after the term of the committee they will officially handover to a substantive council whose members will be elected by the regions and some  nominated by the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports.

The following personalities have been appointed in the interim committee,

George Gomez, Modou Gaye, Sheikh Faye, Bakary Jammeh, Ousman Wadda, Alex Dacosta, Director of Youth and Sports, Kunkung Jobarteh representative of the permanent Secretary Department of State for Basic and Secondary Education, and Cecilia Jallow of Gamstar.
