Africell Appreciates Coach Put and Players' Effort

Africell, the main sponsors of Gambian football is more than appreciative of Coach Paul Put and the players of senior national team.

Africell is the company that paid the whole for the services of Coach Paul Put as head coach of the senior national team.

The company did not hide its satisfaction and appreciation about the efforts of the coach and the performance of the players for writing history for the Gambia.

Speaking to the gathering when the management of Africell hosted the Scorpions and members of the GFA at the Africell headquarters along

Kairaba Avenue
, Mr. Papa Leigh, Africell's Marketing Manager said:  "It is a great pleasure to have you around here. We are very proud of you and would like to say thank you for the wonderful job you guys did. I would like to inform you that Africell did not regret anything after the GFA approached us for the signing of the coach. We (Africell) will still continue to work with the GFA and Scorpions", he assures, adding that "we Africell will say thank you and the president for making us proud and we will never leave you a lone".

In his remarks Mr. Barry, an official at Africell said:  "I was in Dakar, Senegal and saw the way the boys played. We are very small but we've shown what we can do. We are very happy with the coach and the players. The coach has totally changed Gambian football".

For his part, Terema Dahaba, who represent the GFA maintained that GFA should be thanking Africell because when the going was tough for the GFA it was Africell that come to their aid. He said: "We are really happy to work with you and will always love to work together".

For Coach Paul Put, the players need to be commended as they are the guys that did the job.

"I am very proud of them and will always assure Africell that I will always be at your services", he asserted. "The" Gambia will be one of the biggest teams in nation cup tournament in a time to come", he added.

Matthew Mendy, the vice captain of the team, spoke on behalf of colleagues said: "When we were in need of a coach it was Africell who helped and give us the support needed. We are really happy with them for their support. We thank them for the wonderful job and hope that the contract of the coach will be renewed for many more years to stay with us", he said.

The Occasion was witnessed by the Managing Director of Africell Mr. Badara Mbye, members of the Gambia Football Association, a cross section Africell staff, players of senior national team and members of the press as well.
