Principal Magistrate Joseph A. Effirm of the Brikama Magistrates' Court recently heard a criminal case of criminal trespass and disobedience to lawful order brought against Sheriffo Bojang, Soto Bojang, Musa Jarju, Dembo Sanneh and Alassan Sanneh.
The accused persons, all of whom pleaded not guilty to the charges were granted a court each in the sum of D50, 000, with a Gambian surety each.
According to the particulars of offence, on count one sometimes in 2009 and 2010 at Kunkujang Mariama, Kombo South in the Western Region, the accused persons Sheriffo Bojang, Soto Bojang, Musa Jarju, Dembo Sanneh and Alasana Sanneh intended to intimidate, annoy or insult unlawfully entered into the farm land of Buba Mendy at the said Kunkujang Mariama village.
Count two stated that, sometimes in the year 2009 and 2010 at Kunkujang Mariama, Kombo South in the Western Region, the accused persons Sheriffo Bojang, Soto Bojang, Musa Jarju, Dembo Sanneh and Alassan Sanneh by a copy of lawful order, dated 8th April 2010 from the Office of the President through the Governors Office of the Western Region to return all farm land instructed to the Mansakos, as recommended by the task force on or before April 2010 which they failed to do.
The case was adjourned to 9th June 2010.
