The third edition of the Gorgolou Football Championship, featuring football academies within the Greater Banjul Area is set to kick-off tomorrow at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
Eight teams divided into two categories: male and female will take part in the contest.
Loek Holland and Ebou Town of Group A members, Unity and defending champions Balajo football of Group B make up the male category.
The female contest features Pa Ndow/City Girls and Red Scorpions make up Group A, while Abuko and Jeshwang make up Group B.
The competition which is sponsored by Lie Mbye, a Gambian based in Sweden, is meant to give participants the opportunity to compete.
Coach Bubacarr Demba, alias Borris, Coordinator of the competition said the competition will in future produce a selection of young players who will represent the country in international competitions, especially in Sweden.
Trophies, medals and T-shirts will be awarded to the first three in each category.
