Three men were recently acquitted and discharged by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Kemo Ceesay.

Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Ceesay stated that the accused persons were arraigned before the court on 26th May 2010, and charged with stealing, which they all denied.
He said the prosecution had called four witnesses in support of their case, while the accused persons testified on their own behalf.
Magistrate Ceesay further told the court that, after listening to the evidence of both the prosecution witnesses and that of the accused persons, the court was not convinced that the prosecution had proven their case beyond reasonable doubt.
“The court had found that the prosecution woefully failed to prove their case, and consequently the accused persons are hereby acquitted and discharged,” Magistrate Ceesay declared.
